Thursday 11 September: Second Day of the Symposium

The main language of our liturgy today was Spanish.

Today’s schedule was re-arranged as our audience with Pope Francis had been canceled.

Our morning session began with Terce, then Sister Scholastika Häring gave a presentation on the subject of ‘Enclosure’, followed, after a break, by an open forum.

During our break we were treated to specialties from Poland, brought by our Polish sisters, including Sękacz, a regional cake from North East Poland, and ‘cookies for serenity’ made strictly according to a recipe by Saint Hildegard.

The afternoon was free from after lunch to Vespers, a good opportunity to see a bit of Rome, get on with necessary jobs, or simply relax.
