Colloquium at Rome, 28 – 30 August, 2000
Colloquium from August 28 – 30 to celebrate the millennium. 50 nuns and sisters met at S.Anselmo, Rome and embraced the controversial subject of enclosure. Despite the diversity of interpretation and forms of life, the comparatively small group was able to practise sharing and listening to each other. They recognised common values in the differences as well as learning from each other.
At this meeting it became clear that, to strengthen the common identity, a name for all Benedictine women was needed.
