Friday, 14th September, Meetings and Departures

Today it was time for many of us to head for the airport and return to our monasteries, but not so for the Conference members. Today was the day for the elections for moderator and administrative council.

By lunchtime the elections were over and the new council was arranging to meet.

CIB Elections, September 2018

‘It is with great pleasure and with joy that we announce that Sr Lynn Marie McKenzie from the Sacred Heart Monastery in Cullman, Alabama USA and currently the President of the Federation of St Scholastica has been elected the CIB Moderator for the next four years. We offer our prayerful support and blessings to her as she takes on this important role on our behalf.

At the same meeting Sr Franziska Lukas, Abbess of St Scholastika Abbey in Dinklage, Germany was elected Assistant Moderator. The following two sisters were elected to the Administrative Council: Sr Thérèse-Marie Dupagne from Prieure Notre-Dame D’Hurtebise, Belgium and Sr M. Caritas Swai from the Benedictine Sisters of Our Lady Help of Christians, Ndanda, Tanzania East Africa.’

At 5.30 we gathered in the cloister area for the reception, a chance to celebrate!
